Ukraine: A Russian missile and drone attack on the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk killed two people and injured 34 others, including two children, regional authorities said on Wednesday.

Emergency workers used cranes and excavators to clear rubble and remove wrecked vehicles from a residential neighbourhood hit in the overnight attack.

Officials said five apartment buildings with 431 flats and 35 private homes were damaged, while six private houses were destroyed.

Residents sifted through the ruins of their homes and salvaged belongings as aid workers assisted those affected, offering them warm tea and snacks. Local residents said the missile strike shattered windows, damaged roofs, and left homes uninhabitable.
